Texas imposes a 6.25% state sales and use tax on all retail sales, leases and rentals of most goods, as well as taxable services. Lakewood Village imposes a 1.50% sales and use tax and the Lakewood Village Municipal Development District imposes 0.05% sales and use tax for a total 2% sales and use tax for a maximum combined rate of 8.25%.

The Texas Comptroller distributes the collected sales tax for online purchases and services such as wireless telephones and internet access for your home based on the purchaser's address. It's important that Lakewood Village is utilized as the the mailing address to ensure the sales tax you pay is distributed to the Town you live in.
