A certificate of occupancy confirms that a home substantially complies with the building codes adopted by the Town of Lakewood Village and is suitable for occupancy as a residence.

The inside and outside of the property must be accessible on the day inspection is scheduled. If the property is not accessible and ready for inspection, a re-inspection fee will be charged and must be paid prior to rescheduling.

Trash and recycling service in Lakewood Village is provided by Allied Waste (Republic Services). Each household receives three 90-gallon containers that may be used in any combination for landfill or recycling.

Lakewood Village Elementary opened in 2025 as the first dedicated campus within the Town, serving Pre-K through 5th grade as part of Little Elm ISD. Designed with a functional student capacity of about 700 and staffed by approximately 30 employees, the school provides a safe, modern learning environment with secure entrances and up-to-date facilities. Outdoor spaces include playgrounds and recreational areas that encourage active play and community connection. In keeping with Lakewood Village’s values, the campus was built to be fully compliant with Dark Skies standards, preserving the town’s natural night sky.
